One can visit her doctor to see if it is influenza, or if a throat swab should be done to look for strep throat (antibiotics are needed if strep). Tylenol or Motrin can temporarily relieve aches, sore throat, or fever. Sore throat lozenges and warm tea or soup can help also. Most people choose to rest up for a few days.
