A member asked:

I am 8 weeks pregnant. are massages safe during pregnancy? there are a lot of conflicts online about massages not being safe. what massages can i do? i am quite stressed and need some form of relief and tension. what is safe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Most things are safe: In the first 2 months of pregnancy, an embryo is nonexistent to tiny, so physical activities should have no effect. If a later pregnancy is normal, then mild to moderate exercise will not make the pregnancy any more or any less successful. What will be, will be. Women even do sports activities early in pregnancy (Later in pregnancy, they do get larger changes in bodily weight and balance).
