Don't be fulled : Kidney infection can, but not always, be associated with back pain. Even then, the degree of pain does not necessarily correlate with the severity of the infection. That have being said, if one has a urinary tract infection and back pain follows, the doctor should be informed before full blown pyelonephritis and sepsis set in.
