Foraminal narrowing : Nerves come out of the bones in the back through holes called foramina. If there is less space for the nerve to pass through those holes its called foraminal narrowing. Usually, it is from arthritis of the spine, but can be from a disc out of place or poor spinal alignment. Having foraminal narrowing predisposes a person to have nerve inflammation and symptoms but is not directly correlated to it.
