Flu: Influenza is typically heralded as a sudden onset of febrile illness. Nausea, fever (100 to 104 F), sore throat for about 3 to 5 days and then people develop myalgias, weakness and headache. Nonproductive cough common. Symptoms can last anywhere from one to two weeks.
