Time to get a doc : There was massive progress in the last few decades on prevention and early treatment of cardiac disease. Calculating a modified Framingham score that includes family history would be a good starting point. You will need cholesterol levels as well as blood pressure among others and having all started under the direction of a physician would be the way to go.
