A member asked:

Is a flu shot safe after having a pulmonary embolism?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No difference: Flu shot is just a vaccine, like the hepatitis shots. These vaccines don't directly relate with the organs they are protecting. Instead, protection travels in the blood and its immune cells and antibodies. The flu shot doesn't interact with the lungs, and the hepatitis shot doesn't interact with the liver. Thus, there is no difference in flu shot safety, whether a person has a lung issue or not.
