I am 17 weeks pregant. i have been for 3 scans with a sonographer. i was told i need to do a 20 week scan with the sonographer and then a 28 week and a 36 week scan with a obgyn. is this factual? should i only see a obgyn at 28 weeks?

Sonograms as : scheduled are fine, as stated. Prenatal visits with your doctor are separate issue, usually see your OB doctor every 4 weeks, from 6 - 28 weeks and then every 2 weeks till 36 weeks, then weekly till delivery. However, this can vary with locations and caregivers, so talk to your doctor about recommendations.
