Doctor can check it: An ear that feels strange and isn't back to normal in a day or two, should be checked by a primary care doctor. The same goes for an ear that has ringing. The primary care doctor may refer to an ENT specialist if needed. There may be excess wax, ear fluid behind the eardrum, or a middle ear infection, etc... If there is suddenly decreased hearing for no known reason, one's doctor or ER can check.
