Doctor can evaluate: Dark urine means a trip to the doctor (red color can be blood, and brown color can be from blood cells breaking or muscle cells breaking, etc...). Tests can be done to find out why the urine is dark, and why there is back pain. Kidney infection can cause lower back pain. If unable to see one's primary care doctor, a trip to an Urgent Care clinic, or the ER, will get one an evaluation too.
