A member asked:

Am wearing a 4 electrodes monitor. 2 electrodes are 2-3 inches below collar bones (both sides of chest)&2 electrodes right below both breasts on ribs.have been pressing on all 4 many times to make sure they are on bones.can doing this harm my heart?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Heart-monitoring electrodes or other similar types of monitoring electrodes are intended to be stuck on the skin with adhesive. Pressing on them does nothing to the heart, but just reassures the patient that the electrode is still stuck where it is supposed to be stuck.
