Hidradenitis?: Your friend might have hidradenitis suppurativa. It's an immunologic condition, although it looks and often behaves like an infection. Antibotics may help with flare-ups, but typically don't cure it. Management can be complex. Your friend should see a doctor, preferably a dermatologist, for diagnosis and treatment. Good luck.
