Hemoglobin ?'s: Anemia is very common in pregnancy, but your body compensates for chronic low hemoglobin and allows progression of pregnancy without major effects on the fetus. Iron supplements are helpful, but see your OB physician for an evaluation, since most pregnancies can sustain a hemoglobin of 9.6-10.5 without problems.
