Triglycerides: Were you fasting? Triglycerides are fat in blood, are increased after a meal and are different from cholesterol. TG of 189 is slightly elevated if you were fasting, but if this were after a meal this could be normal. Conditions that cause an elevation of fasting TG include obesity, diabetes, hypothyroidism, estrogens, and many other conditions, including genetics. Discuss with your doc.
