Some basics: Shingles can appear in any location including the scalp & face. It would only be on one side of the body. It often starts with pain followed by blisters along the distribution of a nerve that supplies the skin of that area. It would have nothing to do with a cough. You should consult your doc as there are treatments to make it less intense. Location near the eye is also worrisome.
