Sun and dry: Atlete foot is common fungal infection. No cure/remedy is perfect, and you may expect recurrence if two conditions - darkness and moisture are constantly present. This is enviroment fungi are triving ; it is inside your shoes.
Do not look for perfect shoes; nothing like this is exsist. Use common sence. In addition to medications given, and hygienic advices you already heard use sandals in summer.
