A member asked:

I'm 23 weeks pregnant and i have been experiencing a cramp on the right side of my stomach next to my belly button. at first i thought it was my stomach stretching but the pain keep persisting. the feeling comes and goes, and it's not severe but unco?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

May be preterm labor: The cramps could be contractions and so could be preterm labor. One should be checked out by her Ob-Gyn doctor. That may mean going to the hospital and staying in the Labor and Delivery ward to be monitored to see what is going on. Meanwhile, avoid physical activities, having sex, and bumpy rides to the hospital. A baby born at 23 weeks is too early for survival. Hopefully everything is still ok.
