Positive test for hsv via a polymerase test. is there a chance this was a false positive, ie can i test again after 1 year?

Possible!: There can be false positive results with many diagnostic tests including STD tests. The chances of having false positive results increase as the likelihood of the infection decreases in the person who is being tested. False positive HSV-2 results can occur, particularly in people who are at low risk for a herpes infection. So getting re-tested is a good idea. I wish you well with your health!
