Basics: Pasteurization (process to make raw milk safe for consumption) uses heat to inactivate germs that may be otherwise a risk. The level of heat used is less than the 100 c needed to boil or baking temperature (~190 c) for most foods. Consumption of raw milk not subject to enough heat to kill germs is risky, but you are making it safe if you do.
