See a dentist: Your periodontal condition is unknown, but periodontal issues may flare up during pregnancy due to hormonal changes. In any event, you can be seen by a dentist even though you are pregnant and have a gentle cleaning to help reduce the inflammation. No harm will come to your child.

Congratulations: Wishing you a healthy baby. Only help we can give you over the computer is to "see a Dentist NOW." Gum boil indicates abscessed (infected) tooth. Gum issues indicated periodontal disease which has been implicated in pre-term delivery and low birth weight, let alone the harm to your organ systems. Dental examination, x-rays, treatment will NOT harm you or your baby. Please call dentist immediately.

When pregnant: Most dental treatment can and should be performed with some basic precautions. Not getting treatment, especially when there are infections present, will be more harmful to both you and your unborn child. Have your dentist consult with your Obstetrician prior to treatment. Get the recommended treatment and don't worry about it.
