Hard to know: Your post does not give the age of the kid or why you relate rashes in small areas to allergy. Food diaries, skin & blood allergy tests have benefits to various groups of people when/if other causes have been excluded. Some insurers (here in the US) will not cover allergy tests below certain ages. This is something your local doc is likely to know.

CAP testing: Many PCPs offer CAP panel testing which is a blood test which may be ordered at their office. The panels selected depend on your child's history, location and pattern of presentation. Avoid common allergens such as dust, mold, pet dander. Use a gentle soap, apply local over the counter caladryl lotion three times daily and please see your PCP. He may have a skin condition called eczema.
