Irregular periods?..: A woman with irregular periods can see her doctor, either primary care or Ob-Gyn, to be evaluated to see if there is a specific reason for her symptoms. She should bring a diary of symptoms, written down on a calendar, so the doctor can look for patterns. A physical exam and blood tests sometimes suggest polycystic ovary syndrome, thyroid disorders, etc... Treatment may include oral medications.
