My colposcopy results:diagnosis: chronic cervicitis and atypical lsquamous metaplasia. inflammatory debris. hgsil cin2 and minute fragments of benign endocervical and endometrial glands. i have an appointment with my doctor on october 3rd. ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pap smear ?'s: "Atypical squamous metaplasia , chronic cervicitis, inflammatory debris" are benign changes and do not raise concerns. HGSIL needs followup, and may be related to human papiloma virus (HPV) which can later cause problems if not treated. Hot cautery or nitrous oxide freezing can treat this, with confirming repeat pap smears in 3-6 months.
