Doctor can evaluate: Possible causes of middle or low back pain include: back muscle strain, back ligament sprain, spine joint inflammation, herniated disc, spinal stenosis, urine infection, kidney infection, kidney stone, tumor in the spine, tumor in the kidney or other places, fractured vertebra, fibromyalgia, etc... So, with such a long list of possibilities, a doctor needs to examine the patient.
