"Severe bleeding" ?: Heavy bleeding "three weeks after a D&C" is unusual. Depends on the reasons for the D&C, but if the surgery were done after a miscarriage or elective abortion, there may be fragments of placental tissue still in the uterus. See your surgeon who performed the D&C for an exam and possible pelvic ultrasound.
