My child has had 4 ear infections in the space of 10 months, when is it time to see an ent??

Some basics: As kids grow older their head grows & frequency of ear infections diminish. In general for kids under 5 infections/yr or 1 that has not cleared in 90 days is worth an ENT consult. Tube placement would be a suggestion only made after a full review of the case & all related factors.

Dosing: Ensure that the dose and course of the antibiotics is adequate. If there are other infections, including skin, lung and sinus infections, please discuss an immune work up with your PCP.
