A member asked:

I would normally get a boil on my hips or buttocks now & again, but for the last few months i have been getting boils non stop on my hips & shockingly, even on my vagina as well now. they are truly painful & i honestly do not know why? please advise.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Resistant bacteria?: The antibiotic-resistant bacteria called MRSA is usually checked for when a person has a boil. The doctor can swab the pus and send it to the lab. Certain antibiotics are used for MRSA boils, and other things have to be done to try to get that bacteria out of the household. Boils can still be due to regular, nonresistant bacteria... so hope it is nonresistant.
