Needs watching: Blood pressure is very variable, increasing in response to stress, waking up, cold temperature, alcohol, decongestants, eye drops, and others. Transient elevations in BP are not necessarily dangerous but can be a precursor to chronic hypertension. I recommend measuring BP in duplicate 10 times over 2 days a month and then reviewing the average with your md.
