It's pretty common: Heart disease under age 40 is decidedly RARE. but other reasons for throat issues are quite common. About 1 in 3 people have reflux. about that many more have other simple problems like panic attack, laryngeal spasm, etc. An ekg wouldn't hurt. scoping the upper gi tract IF somoeone knew how to examinne the larynx at the same time wouldb e ideal.

Experiencing chest pains or difficulty swallowing that may affect your breathing is a good reason to contact your doctor or otherwise seek medical attention.
