It depends....: ...on the type of proctitis (inflammation of the rectum). Proctitis due to inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis) is not contagious at all, whether or not in transmission. Some proctitis (e.g. STDs like gonorrhea or chlamydia) is transmissible, although not after successful treatment. Check with the doctor treating you.
