Heat rash: "prickly heat" occurs when persons get hot and sweaty, tyically in the summer. Blocked pores (sweat ducts) are believed to be the cause. Common sites affected are under clothing and at friction points. Sometimes a rash can be due to a detergent of softener allergy. Keeping skin dry and cool is the best treatment and it should resolve the problem if it is truely heat rash.
