Chronic back: Do you have a diagnosis? If not, I recommend that you consult an orthopedic specialist who specializes in spine problems. Bring any xrays or MRI's of your spine that you might have had. Get a diagnosis, proper testing, effective treatment which may include physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medications, pain management including epidural corticosteroid injections and pain relieving medication.
