Hard to speculate: The described trauma is too vague to predict an injury. That said, if it is interfering with her normal daily activities to this extent the problem can range from simple muscle pain to a ruptured spleen. It is time to have her seen at urgent care or an ER.

I think I have a fractured rib on left side from a bear hug...hurts to take deep breath and move too fast...but now I feel like I can feel air bubbles on side where I think is fractured. Is this normal?
Left pain below ribs, worsening with deep breath or bowel movement (like forcing). It also causes sudden spasm of pain but that come and go and last a few seconds. Any suggestion on what this might be?
