Get evaluation if : there is any vision change or pain in the eye. Coughing or sneezing can cause a blood vessel to rupture and cause a subconjunctival hemorrhage ( almost solid blood spot), more common on blood thinners or swollen blood vessels only, which would suggest conjunctivitis/pink eye. Bacterial has a heavy discharge while viral is mostly just pink and watery. Both resolve without treatment
