Endocarditits: Endocarditis itself is not contagious. However, some bacteria that cause endocarditis -- e.g. staph, especially if methicillin resistant (MRSA) -- can potentially be a problem for people in the same household. Probably no precautions are necessary except normal hygiene, but your daughter's doctors can provide more information. Best wishes for her speedy recovery without complications.
