Little effect: Hormonal contraceptives (pills, implant, etc) have been studied carefully for their effect on HPV and the results are reassuring. Hormonal contraception may slightly increase the risk of persistence and perhaps progression to cervical cancer, but any effect is very small. This really isn't a serious worry.
