A member asked:

I shared a drink with my friend the other day, and today she found out she had strep throat, should i be worried?

Maybe/not: Contact spread is possible but not automatic. Was the dx confirmed by test or just treated? True strep is usually symptomatic within 12-72 hrs after exposure, yet transfer rate ranges from 1/4 to 1/32 even in families depending on many factors. I would be vigilant but not rush to pre-treat as you most likely will not get it from that exposure.
