Yes but why?: There would not be any significant reaction between the amoxicillin and alcohol but the alcohol may irritate the throat causing increase pain and discomfort. It would be the equivalent of putting alcohol on a burn or wound. Better to wait and gargle with mild warm salt water for the sore throat. Good luck.

Not recommended: There is a common myth that alcohol mixed with antibiotics, such as Amoxicillin, causes interactions. Because of the strep throat (healing delay) alcohol is not recommended. Alcohol will only make your throat more dry and painful. Drink a lot of water.
