No: This medication is more of a sedative for the intestinal tract and can cause constipation. For relief of diarrhea, avoid roughage and spicy food and eat a soft,bland diet. Drink adequate fluids. Take kaopectate or for more severe diarrhea take imodium and follow directions. Consult your physician if not improved or if symptoms worsen.
