Scarring: You MAY have keloids, a type of over-healing after a cut. Please see your doctor, who may refer you to a dermatologist. Peace and good health.

Some basics: Skin color is maintained by pigment producing cells within the tissue. After a cut, the primary healing may be finished in weeks, but the site is also more sensitive to sunlight. It can burn easily & darken scars (reduced by vit E or sunscreen). It can take several years for skin tone to return to pre-injury level. If it is prominent see a dermatologist for help lessening the effect.
