IUD bleeding ?'s: Bleeding after IUD insertion can be a sign of the IUD residing in the cervical canal, not in the body of the uterus (womb). This happens when uterine contractions push the IUD into the canal, and also makes the effectiveness of the IUD less. Cramping and loss of appetite can be signs of pregnancy, so obtain a serum HCG test to be certain, and a pelvic ultrasound to check IUD location.
