Photosensitivity: Doxycycline can cause photosensitivity, i.e. increased susceptibilty to sunburn. While taking the drug and for a few days after the last dose, keep covered from sun and use a strong sunblock for exposed skin. If despite the precautions you start to get sunburn, stay inside. Or speak with your doctor about an alternate antibiotic: several others are equally or more effective against folliculitis.
