Yes: Although milk of magnesia is absorbed in small amounts in the skin, the constant use of this on the skin can lead to magnesium hydroxide side effects such as diarrhea. That is why it is recommended to limit the topical use of milk of magnesia to small areas and in low amounts. Also milk of magnesia can alter the pH of your skin.
