Strep throat: Can be diagnosed with a throat swab, 'strep test', although many symptoms of sore throat can be due to viral pharyngitis. Salt water gargles and painkillers, unless contraindicated, would be helpful, if no improvement see your doctor for assessment and treatment plan, good luck
