A member asked:

I think i may have copd because i have shortness of breath and sometimes i have a hard to breathing in so i have to inhale hard and it happens a lot ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely copd: COPD is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and usually the problem occurs from combinations of recurrent infection, asthma, and/or chronic smoking, and there is difficulty in breathing OUT. If you find it hard to breathe in and feel like you have to take frequent deep breaths, you may have hyperventilation problems which are more likely related to panic or anxiety. Get checked and get help.
