Burning sensation: This patch of burning sensation without discoloration is most likely due to superficial nerve irritability/inflammation. Sometimes it is an early symptom of a viral eruption like herpes simplex or herpes zoster(shingles) so be on the lookout for an eruption and if a rash occurs, see a physician or dermatologist for evaluation. These viral infections are treatable. The symptoms could also resolve.
