A member asked:

Why do i have food allergies now? what is the cause of food allergies? bad gut microbiome?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Domino effect: Many of us are born with the genetic TENDENCY towards allergies of one type or another, but you are not born with them. They are a reaction, similar to the immune response you have to vaccines. Instead of rejecting a germ the allergy rejects the food or other trigger. A food may be tolerated for years before your body becomes allergic. Gut microbes have little to do with it.
