Strain: You strained these back muscles. You must rest them, apply ice wrapped in a towel 20 minutes four times a day for two days and then switch to heat(moist towel- not too hot!! Discuss this with your parents before you begin treatments. They can advise you about taking any Tylenol or ibuprofen as needed. Strained muscles take 7-10 days to heal. Avoid stressing your back during this time.
