Is it normal to have crunching/crackling sound in diff spots in head while laying down 7wks post suboccipital craniectomy for chiari? followed by pressure & pain. next appt isnt for 2 months. questioning if this is common or concerning.

Subcutaneous air: It's possible you have some air captured under the skin at the time of the operation, causing crackles or "crepitus" until the air is reabsorbed; this normally happens more quickly than 7 week. Or perhaps the replaced portion of bone is causing the cracking sound. If it gets worse, if painful/tender, or if fever develops see your doctor immediately.
