A member asked:

Does alcohol consumption in your late teens and early 20s have any long lasting effects on female eggs (ova/ovum)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hard to know: The basic answer is we don't know for sure. The sad thing is the egg quality may be influenced by alcohol or drugs, or ever koolaid you drink. The eggs sit there forming under these influences. Whether or not these factors alter the genes in small ways has been speculated but no clear data exists. I wonder whether the autism & other issues can arise from these influences.
